Lukehaven Icelandic Sheepdogs is located in Lexington Massachusetts with Loren Dribinsky and Daniel McCarthy. We focus on temperament, structure and are very active in agility and conformation. Our dogs are a central part of our lives. They sleep in our bedroom, accompany us on many trips, and generally are walked daily in the woods. These daily walks are hopefully keeping us young at heart. Four Icelandic sheepdogs currently reside with us: Betsy , Scout, Brooke, and Roy. The kennel is named in honor of our Luke, who made Loren’s dreams come true. He was twice Best of Breed at Westminster, and achieved his PAX title in agility as well as PT title in Herding.
I am a retired Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist, so now I devote my time to my grandchildren and my dogs. I have loved dogs since childhood. We have always had companion dogs in the past, including Border Collies, Collies, Pembroke welsh Corgis, Australian Shepherds, and a Havanese. These dogs were beloved members of our family, but none captured our hearts as much as our Icelandic sheepdogs.
I have also attended Avidog Seminars, and I am an approved Avidog Breeder. Puppies will be raised with early neurological stimulation techniques , and will be closely monitored. Before leaving my household, they will have their first vaccinations, and will be microchipped. I will temperament test when they are 8 weeks old.
